The term voiceover or voice-over or VO refers to a production technique where a disembodied voice is broadcast live or pre-recorded in radio, television, film, theater and/or presentation.
The voice-over may be spoken by someone who also appears on-screen in other segments or it may be performed by a specialist voice actor. Voice-over is also commonly referred to as "off camera" commentary. However it's defined, voiceover work is very competitive and challenging for the performer, or voiceover artist.
To break into voiceover work, you need a demo. Tunarelli offers a voiceover demo package to get you started. It includes the following:
• Voiceover copy packet of commercials, narrations, etc. with $100 deposit;• Music and SFX added post-session (ftp downloads for client review);• Ten audio CDs with full-color CD label packaged in ultra slimline box*;• MP3 data disk (for your website/send to producers/archive).
